Gaming chair

Do you spend long hours in front of your screen and want to play in the best conditions? The gaming chair is the central element of a good setup. Designed specifically for gamers, the gaming chair stands out for its ergonomic design, its style and features designed for long gaming sessions. But how do you choose the right gaming chair? Here’s everything you need to know to avoid making a mistake/

Why choose a gaming chair ?

Today, gamers are looking for design and comfort. We spend a lot of time in front of our screens, and it is essential to invest in a chair that lives up to expectations: comfortable and stylish. The gaming chair has adapted to the needs of players with a ergonomic design, a sleek style and an ever-growing range of features: rocking function, cushion, adjustable armrests...

The essential features of a gaming chair

Ergonomics : Each player has different needs depending on their body shape. Make sure you choose a chair suited to your build and your preferences. For a child, consider a seat that can grow with them over time, for example with the option to adjust the seat height.

Settings : Beyond height and tilt adjustment, look for gaming chairs with armrests that are adjustable in height, swivel, depth and width. The more adjustments there are, the more personalised the comfort. A seat suited to your body shape will be a considerable advantage in helping to avoid back or arm pain. A gaming chair, thanks to its many adjustments, will help you find THE right position. Important when you spend hours working or gaming !

Materials and design: Opt for armchairs with metal or steel frames, which are more durable and resistant to wear. Don’t overlook style: choose the colour and material you like best (black, pink, fabric or faux leather). The upholstery is essential: it should combine comfort with long-lasting durability, resisting everyday abrasion and stains. A gaming chair that’s easy to clean is a real plus in your search for the gaming chair of your dreams.

Padding and support: Quality padding is essential for optimum comfort. Look for seats with good foam density for both the backrest and the seat. Neither too hard nor too soft, the padding should stand the test of time and not flatten with wear.

What is the difference between a gaming chair and an office chair ?

Like the gaming chair, the office chair is designed to provide comfort and support. However, the difference lies in the fact that they are intended for very different audiences.

The gaming chair has been designed for players who wish to spend long hours in front of their screens in the best possible conditions. With its stylish seating, eSports look, its bucket file and its adjustable armrests, the gaming chair has been designed to be comfortable and ergonomic during the most intense gaming sessions. In addition, it can be customised with RGB LEDs or official licences such as Dragon Ball or Assassin's Creed.

The office chair, in turn, can come in all sorts of designs, with or without armrests, headrests, footrests or lumbar support. It is generally more affordable, especially for basic models without advanced ergonomic features. In terms of looks, that’s where the gaming chair scores points! Where an office chair will be rather dull in shades of black and grey, a gaming chair can be a real decorative item with bright colours, LEDs or even licences. The gaming chair becomes a true lifestyle piece of furniture.

For gamers, the gaming chair will always be more suitable because it is specially designed for playing video games, both in terms of its look and its ergonomics.
